Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
