Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the family of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the presidential home.

He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The president said he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump told the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Reaction

Attendees gathered over the weekend at a local school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to aid law enforcement in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that teachers hoped for. She behaved with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the leader of her alma mater, stated to the Associated Press. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to support those in need.”

Funeral arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Measures and Policy Changes

Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the administration to pause asylum applications and halt providing visas to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed a news show that she planned to meet with his relatives.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a military police officer with honor, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” he addressed the gathering at the service. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
