The Two Fatalities Named in the Providence Campus Attack as Police Press On With Manhunt for Killer.

The pair of scholars who died in the recent violent attack on the university campus were honored at the start of the week – amid a widespread hunt for their killer carried on following the freeing by Rhode Island officials of the single suspect questioned in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was called “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, per the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a ceremony on Sunday.

The second fatality was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the prestigious university, family members said.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. His ambitions were lofty of entering the field of neurosurgery and aiding others,” his sibling Samira said in a tribute.

Authorities said on Sunday evening that a 24-year-old male taken into custody in a raid at a hotel about around 27 kilometers from the scene earlier in the day was released from custody.
